In this research we have attempted – through both theoretical and field-based approaches –to examine the relationship between peer groups and the commission of criminal behavior among young people in our society(an exploratory field study on a sample of correctional and rehabilitation institution-milita surman judaym) as peer groups play a decisive role in shaping an individual's personality and attitudes.
This research begins with a central question : what role do peer groups play in the acquisition of criminal behavior? The aim is to determine the extent of this influence they are a juvenile or an adult.
This research comprised three main sections: ( institutions of socialization – group of friends – crime and its types, and the most important theoretical trends explaining it).
The research findings revealed both negative influences of the peer group, particularly regarding criminal behavior among its members ,the danger sometimes lies in the potential for these influences to foster risky behaviors and lead to the rejection of family and societal values – such as encouraging an individual to smoke, use drugs, or engage in immoral activities. it may extend to include crimes such as murder and theft – a fact demonstrated by the research findings and their corresponding statistics – and the study concludes with a set of recommendations and references.
