This study aims to identify the extent to which social transformations influence changes in the living consumption patterns of Libyan families. It also seeks to uncover the relationship between these transformations and the consumption habits within the Libyan household. To achieve these objectives, the researcher employed a descriptive methodology, utilizing a purposive sampling technique consisting of (95) heads of households in the city of Hun.
A questionnaire was developed as the primary data collection tool, featuring a "Social Transformations Scale" divided into three main dimensions to measure their impact on Libyan family consumption patterns:
- The shift toward women entering the workforce.
- Changes in the family’s monthly income level.
- The transition from traditional shopping to e-commerce (online shopping).
The study reached several key findings, most notably: The results confirmed a significant (high) impact of social transformations on changing living consumption patterns among Libyan families, based on the responses of the study sample across the social transformations scale as a whole.
- Social Transformations: التحولات الاجتماعية.
- Consumption Patterns: أنماط الاستهلاك.
- Purposive Sampling: العينة العمدية/القصدية.
- Heads of households: أرباب الأسر.
- E-commerce / Online shopping: التسوق الإلكتروني.
